Tell him that your husband is not really his dad and that he should save the glue for when his real dad shows up.

Here's an idea. Let your kid be a kid and make it. There's nothing better than getting something made by your children.

You sound like a GREAT mom (note my sarcasm) for several reasons:

1. You have no control over your kid using glue.
2. You have no control over influencing your child in any way.
3. You try to squelch your son's love for his father.

How about you stop wasting your son's time by trying to get him to stop?

What kind of mother are you? Let your son be and continue on with his project for his Dad. And what is your address, I'll mail your son enough glue to finish up his Dad's gift, that way you have nothing more to worry about. I hope his Dad loves it and wants to forever keep it right smack dab in the middle of the living room.

Since your husband picked you for a wife he must be shallow and unappreciative of anything unique or thoughtful. What a shame your son must endure your negativity. Architects build models with cardboard and glue. Usually first attempts are a little rough, but with practice they get better. You should praise your child for his thoughtfulness not put him down.

Slip your son the credit card and have him take daddy to the bar. Let them bet on a few horses at the track. And when he says how much he loves horses explain to him that the glue he is using is made from horses.......lol

I agree with all the time and money we invest on our kid's education, you think that just maybe they could come up with something more worth while. Tell your son that you don't think his father would appreciate something like that crappy old box and drink holder, tell him to put his thinking cap on and try harder. You are the ideal mother, teaching her son to strive to make himself try harder and make the best of himself.

Amen! its like when your kids bring home all that junk at mothers day and Christmas from school. like i really need a 100 pictures of my kids hand prints....the ones I clean off the TV and windows are more than enough for me. Stifle your child's creativity before he decides to make you a ugly spice rack

Your son is probably thinking that he is really doing something special for his dad. How old is he? Go ahead and destroy his pride and creativity. Make him feel like ****. Its parents like you that I would love to slap down to the ground. Grow up and be a nurturing mother not a pessimistic idiot!!

What a noob! I hope he doesn't get his creative skills from your gene pool!
Explain to the little tosser that cardboard is a shite material for anything but mailing objects, and hello, drink holder? I know this will crush his creative side, but you know, that's what a parents job is.
Welcome to the real world Bobby. Your 'art work' is **** and your 'creative gift' is a joke.
