They say in Lapland infants learn to swim before they learn to walk. There is no reason why the kids can do the same with the car. Of course they may have to wait until they can wield the steering and operate the gear. As cars are made for being driven by adults they do not come in size suitable for infants.(though sometimes even adults drive it like infants). There are legal bars about the age for driving cars. The restrictions may be in place looking to the dark possibilities of a car gone astray. But I have seen instances when four year olds had driven cars quite competently.

Passing your test
Easy really... you just need to pass two separate tests before you can relax and enjoy the delights of a 'full' driving licence.

First, there's the Theory Test, which is an exam focusing on your knowledge of rules and regulations. Then there's the Practical Test where an examiner inspects your actual driving ability on the public road.

You can take both of these tests once you're 17 and you have obtained your provisional driving licence. But even if you've yet to reach that magical age, you can still prepare for the Theory Test by buying a copy of The Highway Code and other books on driving, and by taking the practice tests.

If you're really, really keen to get started, contact your local driving schools. Many offer theory training courses, as well as 'off road' driving lessons which you can take before you're 17.

Depends on the state. Most states allow you to get your license at 16 and your learning permit a year earlier. Some have raised the driving age to 17 and 18.

Legally, in many countries, the age is 18. Driver Permits, however, can be issued at the age of 17. So, basically you can start driving legally when your 17.

Learning to drive is a no brain-er, learning the proper rules of the road is the hard part. Because each individual is different I believe a person should start learning how to drive AFTER he/she has mastered the rules of the road and can intellectually apply them.

You can start learning at age 15 but with parental supervision, but you can only get your learner's permit at 16 then your license a year later.

As far as learning to drive it really depends on your parents and when they decide that you are mature enough to be taught.
