The world is not getting worse. Its the people that's in it is. Its true we have more access. Years ago there was no television to forecast global news. Papers did not publish items of murder and disaster so it was kept undercover. Its more in the open now and the media expects it no matter the consequences.

Having recently watched a programme about Roman Britain, things are not much worse. We just have more people and more media resources, therefore we are made more aware of things. If the media only reported good news for a while, we may think things are getting better.

Yeah, I agree, if you look at the difference in approval ratings for the action in the Second world war, compared to that of vietnam or the two gulf wars, then you'll find that the more media coverage leads to be people thinking the war is much worse, even though much more people were killed.
But generally the world is awful, especially with people like me in it! Hehehehehe...

If you think about all the major events that have happened in the world, it isn't getting worse. World War I & II, i mean they even used nuclear bombs in WWII. Then theres all the dictators that have ruled in the past, Pol Pot, who killed 1.5 million people in the 70's. I believe we are more aware of what is going on through the media but this world has always had nasty people and wars, and always will

CAN YOU DEFINE WORSE, I FIND IT HARD TO ANSWER THE QUESTION IF ITS OUT OF CONTEXT.

WORSE HOW

WARS - NO
NATURAL DISASTERS - YES
TERRORISM - NO, JUST CHANGING FORM IN A MASSIVE WAY
PLAGUES (CAREFUL, THERE HASN'T BEEN A PLAGUE OF ANY KIND FOR OVER 200 YEARS), DISEASE HOWEVER I THINK IS ON THE DECLINE

AND YES THE MEDIA MAY MAKE IT SEE LIKE ITS ALL GETTING WORSE BUT THATS WHAT YOU SAID SO YOU KNOW THE ANSWER.
