Artemis Fowl Series. And the Prydain Chronicles (Disney burtchered it with their version of "The Black Cauldron". It's time for a remake!)

Almost any book can be adapted into a film. The question is how much will they "butcher" the story by adapting and editing the story. Some good books include:
1.Brave New World, by Aldus Huxley
2.Wicked & Lost, by Gregory MaGuire (Not Musical Version, but true to book form)
I'm sure there are many others. Just look for a good story with a good plot. Many books have allready been changed into movies, such as Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Sci-Fi CLassics, Many "childhood" classics, Stephin King books, and others.

Anne McCaffrey's Dragonrider of Pern books would make great movies, but there's just so many of them!
Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series would also make awesome movies.

The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant, would make a great miniseries. It is biblical historical fiction, the story of Dinah, told from her perspective.
