The one thing that I know about computers is that they are taking over the world as we know it. If we are not all very careful and don't treat them with respect they will slowly begin to choke us all off. First it will be losing of some data here in your medical file, allergic to penicillin... Not anymore... Opps. Then it will be your bank records, a penny here, dime there until you are losing more and more money every day. The problem is that most people don't know how smart they are or what they can do. Are you aware that they are watching you every day as you sit there innocently typing questions. In fact, this is actually not a computer created program to test us humans to see which of are smart enough, or too smart, to keep around. Think about it.

A computer is a machine designed for manipulating data according to a list of instructions known as a program.

Originally, the term "computer" referred to a person who performed numerical calculations.

Early electronic computers were the size of a large room, and such enormous computing facilities still exist for specialized scientific computation (referred to as "supercomputers") and for the transaction processing requirements of large companies.

Smaller computers for individual use (called "personal computers") are portable devices, such as the "laptop computer."

However, the most common form of computer in use today is the embedded computer, small computers used to control another device. Embedded computers control machines ranging from digital cameras to fighter jets.
