They try to ban abortion. They try to keep homosexuals from getting married. They have halted stem cell research. Evidence in Rolling Stone Magazine shows the possibility they stole the 2004 vote. As an adult do you feel that Republicans in the White House and abroad have an inner desire to treat others as if they are children? God gave us free will and it seems as if they want to take that away from those adultlike and personal possibilities. There are people who need abortions. Those who want to join their same sex partners who are hurt or injured in the hospitals. Those who want their votes to be counted. Those who need stem cell research to heal. When our time with God comes we will be responsible for our own decisions like adults. Do you feel as if Republicans have a need to treat other adult matters as if we were grown ups in pre-school?

Yes like we can't think for ourselves! They need to focus on more important things than telling adults what to do!

You are an idiot. You realize that if the democrats had their way you wouldn't breath without them telling you to? They will garnish 95% of your pay and provide all the service they tell you you need. They will teach ONLY what they deem is important to learn and release the news they think you need to know. At least with a republican administration you can sleep soundly knowing all they care about is what you do in your bedroom.

BTW, the percentage of women that NEED abortions is about .05%. The rest of women who have abortions do it becasue it is easier or more convenient than having the child or placing it for adoption.

What does stem cell research have to do with treating you like a child? They have halted government funding for stem cell research, not all research. In fact, California spent billions on stem cell centers a couple years ago.

People who want to join their same-sex partners in the hospital can easily do so if they fill out the proper paperwork. It costs about $250 at any reputable attorneys office. It is called a "Living Will" and a "Power of Attorney". You don't mention wanting this same benefit for heterosexual non-married couples; how come only certain groups qualify for protections under your ideas? BTW, non-married heteros can also have this protection by filling out the EXACT same papers as the homosexual couple.

As for the votes counted thing, get over it. There has been no PROOF of any "vote stealing" or other tampering in the presidential election. (There was proof of tampering in the Washington governors race, but since a dem won no one is pushing that story).

You will be responsible for your decisions and you still are. Is abortion illegal? Is homosexuality illegal? Is stem cell research illegal (well, okay parts of it are, but there is still a lot that can be done)?

And I just LOVE how you speak of God and easy abortions and stem cells in the same lines. It is hilarious.

Treat adults like children? More than the Dems want to?

Be serious. Banning abortion is about the killing of the human life inside, and about taking adult responsibility for one's decisions to have sex.

Homosexual marriage isn't an adult / children thing, it's something that would have a deleterious effect on the basic institution of society and civilization. It has been proven harmful in Scandinavia and Netherlands, with significant reduction in traditional marriage. That damages a society.

Stem cell research? You have some terrible info there. Under Bush, adult stem cell research is funded as well as some limited lines of embryonic stem cells that were already existing. There is no law against either research, just that the federal government won't fund additional creation of embryonic stem cell lines. How that got twisted into 'halted' is a disgrace.

Rolling Stone magazine's article is not supported by the facts. It is broad speculation based on alternative conclusions to facts that everybody had already sifted through.

While every socialist thing they do - excessive funding of education and the medicare prescription boondoggle - is intended to releive you of your proper adult responsibilities, Bush's attempt to reform socialist security was an attempt to give people back the responsibility for their own selves.

Dems, who want to relieve you of your responsibility to take care of your children, putting food on your table, putting a roof over your head, getting your own medical care, deciding what to drive, what to eat, where to smoke, etc, are not in the business of letting you be an adult. They want you to be irresponsible permanent children they take care of.

Actually, the conservatives want you to be responsible for yourself and your children. It is not the government's responsibility to provide for them.

You have it all wrong.

I don't think it is a matter of treating us like kids so much as bowing to their supporters to get re-elected. Although it has the effect of treating the public as kids.

Banning abortion, gay marriage, stem cell research are all goals of the extreme religious right. And the Reps would not be able to have a majority in congress without that superstitious, bigoted lot of people.

Stealing the election on the other hand is wholly a Republican deal to perpetuate their hold on power.

What makes me sad is how people can compromise their integrity to keep their hands firmly planted in the cookie jar. This is un-american and certainly unpatriotic.

I do not think that the republicans treat us like kids. If some moral issues are not addressed there are people who will do things that are wrong. I do not feel that all moral issues need to be taken care of by the government but things like abortion that take lives should. Is the government overstepping boundaries when they out law theft or murder and would you say by doing this they are treating us like kids? I think the Democrats treat people like kids by allowing many people a free ride when they tax hard working people to fund people who don't work. I am all for helping people who need it if first they help them self but the Democrats want to bail out people who put no effort into helping them self as if they were babies.

The politicians in general speak to the public like there speaking to a class of 4th graders. They spout out broad generalities and cliches that mean very little. They give no specifics and leave a lot of room for interpretation as not to corner them selves. I side with neither. There's very little difference as far as I'm concerned
