First of all, I would advise you to listen to Lizz Wright's albums. But you can also check the work from Rachelle Ferrell, KEM, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Carmen McRae, Nina Simone, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Nat King Cole, Dianne Reeves, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Lina, Chet Baker, Anita Baker, Sade, Diana Krall, Randy Crawford, Patti Austin, Regina Belle, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott etc. Michael Franks is more Pop-oriented but it's fine too.

Try Jane Monheit and Dianne Reeves. I think the best modern jazz singers are Kurt Elling and Tierney Sutton.
Be warned: I hate "Smooth" synthesized jazz. I like to hear piano and/ or guitar, accoustic bass, and drums. with a few horn players, but no strings or synths.

Susie Arioli is great (kind of a Canadian Norah, but she's been around longer). You can find her stuff on amazon.com.
Kurt Elling is good. My brother introduced me to his stuff.
Try Diana Krall's 'Love Scenes' cd.
