You can use the 1841,1851,1861 census to find out where you're family lived in those periods and it tells you exactly who lived in which house at one time...i haven't done it specifically for a house but you could find out who lived in you're house from 1841 onwards... just type 1841 census in search engine

Look for census records - the earliest on http://www.ancestry.com is 1841 for England & Scotland. There are also other directories that go back further but may not be specific to an address.

Local library will have information, or public records office. You might have something like a 'county archivist' who your council could put you in touch with and that is a good way to start researching stuff like this.

Go to the library or local archive and find the deed to the house. It should tell you who owned the property and when.

In the states we have county registries, it takes a lot of research but we can usually trace the ownership of homes that way.

did you go to the local library and go thru the historical records they have lots of old newspapers as well as find the blue prints from your town.
