Besides from the essentails candles, bateries, first aid kiy, fire extenguisher. I keep a place in my pantry just for emergency canned foods that dont have to be cooked. These items are off limit! I also have what i call my grab bag in case i have to leave the house fast . In this bag you will find the essentails, some canned food like Viennas. A change of clothes,and water. If you have a child put in things they will need and if you have a baby go ahead and pout in canned formula etc. When the weather gets bad I put this by my front door put my purse in it. I set my shoes by the door with the keys to my car in the shoes for quick ( I have to get outs) .

Most supplies should be enough for 2 weeks and enough for the number of people involved..

Battery operated radio
Extra shoes/clothing
Personal identification
first aid kit
cell phone
non perishable foods and pet foods
handy wipes(premoistened cloths)
blankets
fire extinguisher
rubbing alcohol/hydrogen peroxide
extra prescribed medications
info. of who to notify in case of your demise

First aid kit, batteries, bottled water, clean clothes, a cooler, candles and/or storm lantern, portable radio and TV and if you have a proper place for storage, some extra gasoline for the car.

food in tins, tin opener, loo rolls, water,first aid box,blankets,reading matter, pen, paper, battery's , torch , then its just how long is the emergency, to how much of each you would need, id go for a months supply ,
