I am English and have 100% English blood that I am very proud of, however I have spent many years living in Brasil!

My question is: Can England ever beat the outstanding skill, endless talent, enegry, passion and frair of the Brasilian game??

I too, love my country 100% and I am proud of my English heritage and stock.

I believe we have the capability to do it, just not enough will or passion.

Far too many times you hear excuse after excuse for Englands' poor performance,eg:

not quite fully recovered, (applies to most of the squad),
"it was really hot out there", (the other team has to play in it too)
"don't want to hit our peak just yet". (WHAT?)

When are we going to get rid of the current prima donnas in the England squad and get a team of players who play with the passion that a 10 man Trinidad & Tobago team had against Sweden.

These idiots are overpayed, and as we will see at the world cup over-rated and just do not seem to gel as a team.

The way they were struggling to play Paraguay on the back of such a victorious win over Jamaca, has to raise some doubt. The second half was simply abysmal, and to top it all we won on an own goal.

A few players in the squad that I think do play with passion are Wayne Rooney, John Terry, Joe Cole, the rest of the senior members are just thinking of how to invest the sponsorship money.

We have the most highly paid Manager and Team in the competition, and yet we all know that success will not come.

We need another Alf Ramsey style manager,

quote "I didn't play my best players, I played my best team"

Given England or Brasil.

Brasil.

Czechs are my personal tip though.

I think the World Cup Quarter-final match in 2002 showed that England and Brasil are fairly evenly matched teams - only seperated by a wonder-strike/fluke! If anything both teams have improved since then.
I really believe that the ideal final, this year, would be England and Brasil. Two well matched teams with highly contrasting styles, that will hopefully produce a cracking final.

course they can for all their creativity they do have major flaws. Their defensive play is shakey.
With the top teams in the world their is very little differance. Remember northern ireland beating england, that was a bad result for us but showed a lower team can overcome a better team. That's the beauty of football. So it's down to how they play on the day. Come on england!!!!

most of the other 32 Country teams have the same qualifications--and Brazil can fall--and unfortunately for them it would be a very difficult fall resulting in mass hysteria and a plunge in their countries reputation--and economy--the rest of the world is hoping for a win but can cope with the downside--Im in Australia --and last night we beat Japan-and the whole country exploded--and I have further news--we are going to eliminate the English and the Brazilians--So There!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-------and I hope the Gutsy Americans come 2nd--as they have the bottle to be up there too--Such a pity that their media and the 200 million Americans dont get behind their team--America would have to be the only ODD COUNTRY EVER not to have SUPPORTERS except if they WIN-AND THEN THE MEDIA WILL GUSH ALL OVER THEM--I dont like the Yanks Period--but their team is playing Soccer and has gone out on a limb!! in world Cup--We in Australia support them more than their own Countrymen.

Statistics say, Brazil has played against England 11 times. They have won 5 matches, draw 5 and lost 1...
Brazilian players are really talented, yet England has a strong team too. I'd say, if they play well, they could win...

In this world cup, 2006, it is not possoble for england to beat brazil. BIG NO.
maybe some other years to come they might beat them but currently, england can't stand brazil in football matches. talk about talented players like ronaldinho, adriano, kaka, ronaldo etc , all attacking,
brazil will score england like 5-0.

Yes they can beat Brazil but only & only if Rooney boy is in that match,am sure of rooney's capabilities, brazil is a good team offensive wise but their centre half are horrible and i think that is where rooney can exploit.Do you remember who gifted Owen the opening goal brazil/England clash last edition?.Expect that if this mouth watering clash comes up.Thanks

England are one of the few teams that have the defensive ability to beat Brazil.Yes they are good going forward but they are poor defensively.Stop the midfield and you beat the team if they can't pass the ball forward they can't score!!!
