My favorite movie would have to be "The Ten Commandments" directed by Cecil B. DeMille. It is a film made in the 50's with a constellation of stars at the peak moments of their careers like Charlton Heston, Ivonne DeCarlo, Yul Brynner, Anne Baxter, Edward G. Robinson, etc. The movie won the very first Oscar for special effects. It tells the story of Moses including parts of his life not depicted in the bible but gathered from other sources.
As far as favorite song, I think "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen would be it. The song was written in 1975 by the band's lead singer Freddy Mercury. This band managed to mix very different music styles and blended them into a fine piece of art. The musicians background as opera and classical music students along with their British rock tendency, and its lyrics make this song unique.
Anyone out there agree?
