Mine did, but in a good way.. There was maybe two or three spots were I really had to grit my teeth. I have a 4x4 inch Koi tattoo on my navel... a little to the left and below my belly button. I hate needles, but have a high tolerance for pain. So it was more a question of my nerves than anything else lol.. But once they started, it felt great! Really, kinda neat in a way.. It just sort of buzzes across your skin. When he got close to my hip bone is when it hurt alot (I am super skinny lol), but for the most part it was fine.
Very intimate though, make sure you trust the Artist doing your tattoo.. If done well, you should have a beautiful artistic piece to sport!

A tattoo doesnt hurt, but the process of tattooing surely hurts!!! Even strong people are known to faint due to the pain while getting tattooed!!

Depends on where you get it. Some places on the body hurt more than others. I cried when I got the one on my shoulder (though it was also my 1st one ever) but the one on my ankle barely hurt. Someone close to me has 3 tattoos (two of which are in the same places as mine) and her 3rd in on the lower back...she said that hurt more than the other 2.

How bad it "hurts" really depends on where your comfort level ends. What one person thinks is pain, another might find uncomfortable. The tattooer makes a difference too. Home tatts to me are a eye opener....I myself sport over thirty, most my arms, and back. Some are roses, writing,on my wrist I have "*****" which means; Beautiful
Intelligent
Taltented
Charming
Humorous my fav..........
Always make sure the tattoo you get you really want...REMEMBER its there for a long time...
The cleaner the better...............

The outline that is done in black, is done first. So after they start --it kind of numbs the area. So it does not hurt. If you get it on your ankle or close to a bone it may. Just think about the one you chose before you do it.

It depends, my wife got a tattoo on her lower back and she laughed the whole time because she is so ticklish there!
But I know I would scream like a little girl the whole time.
(probably because of my fear of needles rather than the pain).

if you are afraid of a little pain you should not be getting a tattoo.
