I would, without a doubt, live in the castle of Gormenghast (book by Mervyn Peake, which was also put on TV a few years ago). It's a weird and wonderful place, a huge huge gothic pile with bizarre inhabitants. I'd be very eccentric though I'm not sure I'd stay there - I think I'd rather see which world I prefer before I decide! If, however, Jonathen Rhys Myers was there (as he was in the TV version) and time stood still so neither of us got too much older, then I might be persuaded to stay, lol! If you haven't seen it or read it, you should try Gormenghast. I'm not normally into fantasies but that one is just too awe-inspiring to miss.

Top 3 fantasy/fictional worlds from books/film that I'd want to live in:

1. Star Wars
2. Firefly
3. Guardians of the Flame - by Joel Rosenburg

And yes, I'd stay.

It would be really cool if I could live in one of the three following worlds:

1. Harry Potter
2. Wheel of Time (Robert Jordan) I think I'd be an Aes Sedai probably of the Gray or Brown Ajahs (not sure I'm up to being a Green - although that would be cool)
3. Lord of the Rings, I think I'd like to be an elf.

I would live in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice - it may have its share of hardships, but I love the social and gender games that are played. I think I would be good at it!
I would also like to live in JK Rowlings Harry Potter world - for the sheer fact that I could perform magic and it would be fun!
I would love to stay in either of these worlds.

I would live on Anne McCaffrey's world, Pern. I would want to be a dragonrider. I think it would be really cool, even if it is dangerous fighting Thread. What a way to live, eh? If I didn't like being a dragonrider, there are always lots of other professions I could go into, like being a Healer or a Musician.

I've got to say I'd choose to live in the Wheel of Time universe (from Robert Jordan's excellent novels). Adventure, magic, excitement, heroism, evil, it's a bit like the real world but most politicians seem to end up dead before their time and technology is still 500 years behind ours.

Definitely the Realms, from the Forgotten Realms books (I won't name an author, since there's so many of them that write about the Realms). More specifically, I think I'd want to be in the town of Silverymoon, where people of all goodly races live together in peace (I especially like elves).

Here's a map of the Realms- http://www.latavernagdr.it/Downloads/Mappe/Forgotten%20Realms%20map.jpg

Silverymoon is south-west of the Great Desert.

if i could live in a different world, in books i would be in the harry potter world, not so much a main character but just hanging out with them, going to get pumpkin juice from the store. Maybe i will be ron's cousin.

in film i would be in pleasantville. i love that movie. the movie seemed to make so safe for everybody in that world. i would go to the malt shop and go steady with the cutest boy in town. then i would go to college and be homecoming queen and get married. all in black and white

Definitely Lord of the Rings, but the books, not the movies. Otherwise maybe Star Wars because there's so many worlds within it. I would definitely stay there.

Not sure I would want to, Alot of stories have a hero struggling agains tsome sort of adversity and I'm too old for all of that..... Maybe poling down the river with Huck Finn would be a better idea than blasting through space or even riding a dragon for us oldsters!!!!!
