India can play fifa next year also or it will play never. Because as I know 75% of Indian population loves cricket and about 10% of the population like soccer. So when only 10% plays football, our team formed will also be weak.
If this cricket fever over the Indians is calmed down and at least 50% of the population plays soccer, we would definitely qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

Don't you see India has no interest in Fifa. They just like cricket. I think they would never make it to fifa cause till they grow up the other will be bigger then them. Some new teams may make it like Afghanistan. I saw them they are good footballers. Cause I know what makes a team most powerfull.

India wll definetly play FIFA unless and untill politics in sports are not there and also favoritism in sports are not there. Bcos, we tend to focuss more on a parcular sports and leave out the rest

your question itself shows the level of interest of indians in football. what does it by "play fifa?" if india even plays football in the SAARC level, that will come within the fifa umbrella.
so indians, keep playing cricket, lose in the finals of world cup and forget the football. regarding fifa world cup, keep watching!

Well, they did qualify for the 1950 World Cup, then pulled out, so they clearly have been good enough. I think if they focused on football and had a bit more money to spend on it, they'd do pretty well.

Ash No one knows who will go to the World Cup. Qualifying has really just begun. The only qualifier that is known is the home team, who gets an automatic berth. Soccerref
