Technology at it's most connected, good thing or bad?

Ways to prevent becoming a number, or are we already a number defined by our social security number assignment and details that are connected to us because of it?

we are defined by our acts... but this is too much. i'll admit, i answer the phone and take orders at the restaurant i work at, and it throws people off when i ask them if their address is still 123 main street. (the wonders of caller id!)

i am not sure if there's any foolproof way of 'hiding' our very existence in today's world. you use a debit card, it's traced. you make a phone call, there's a record. god forbid you take out a loan, have an email account (OOPS!) or go to the hospital!

i take it for granted that someone somewhere has access to all the data about my shoe size, my spending habits at restaurants, where i slept on may 22nd, what kind of figgy pudding i eat, and my phone conversations (blush!) if they really felt like looking it up.

being prompted by ads online as i browse (ads for things i might actually BUY!) is just another indicator that yes, big brother is watching. just wait 'til they embed that chip in your skin.

That was an hillarious spot, but there is a bit of truth in there also .. The industry of mass production is starting to decline and make place for a customer-oriented service. This tendency can already be noticed in software industry, automobile industry and maybe other areas of our everyday life. I don't see it as a bad thing, though. From what I saw in the spot, it seemed like a 'bureaucracy' at its paramount, but bureaucracy is starting to decline also. Some futurists have also coined the term of 'adhocracy'.

Maybe not 2010, but 2020 .. Who knows :)
