I concieved very easily four years ago, and went on the pill after my baby was born. I have now been off the pill for 4 months and cannot concieve. Can anybody help me with this? I was so fertile before, and now it seems to be impossible.

it is very common for it to take up to a year after going off the pill to conceive. speak with your ob/gyn about it but don't panic it is very normal for your body to need time to readjust.

After having no periods for 4 years (bleeding while on the Pill is withdrawal bleeding--very different from a biological perspective), it can take your body up to a full year to get the cycles right again. Also, hormonal birth control can leave you permanently infertile. It is rare, but it has been a well-known side effect for decades. Didn't your doctor explain the risks to you before she/he wrote the prescription *every* time?

4 months is not very long to be trying to concieve. Most couples concieve at around 6 months.

The pill does not affect fertility once you come off it.
If you still haven't concieved after a year of trying go and see your doctor.

Have you ever heard of secondary infertility? You might do a search on it...I have heard that some women experience it after having their 1st child. And also annovulation, where you just don't release an egg....Anyway maybe this can help you out!

i am having the same problem..though I don't have any kids yet..went of the pill bleeding every two weeks..dctr said if I want to get pregnant he will send me to a fertility specialist..nobody ever told me this would happen afer stopping the pill!!

it can take up to two years for your body to return to normal after some birth controls, also as you age it becomes a bit more diff. to become preg since you dont always release an egg every month.
