I recently bought some new RAM for my computer, I first took a look at the RAM that was already install, placed it back in the RAM slot, and I bought the exact same kind, After I put the old RAM back in the same place and without installing the new RAM, I turned the computer on as I regularly do, but now it's started making this strange beeping noise and nothing shows up on the monitor, is there something wrong with it, because I known it takes some time for the computer to register the new RAM, but I left it for 1 hour and nothing happened and this was the RAM that it came installed with!
What should I do about the beeping noise and nothing showing up on the screen? and should I install the new RAM then? It's the same make and model as the one already in my computer.

If you have slotted in the ram correctly then it shouldn't be a problem. Just pull it out and start over again.

But all that beeping noise properly indicate you may have stuck it back in the wrong slot or the wrong way round.

Ram slots need to be read sequentially from top down. Example the first slot facing the CPU is the slot you must fill first. This order may be different in different motherboards though! Check your motherboard manual.

Also check you have not placed the module facing the wrong way! Ram don't need time to register with a computer, it is checked & acknowledged immediately on bootup by the pc BIOS.

It's a good idea to test all your new ram modules before you use them. Check 1 stick at a time. Use Memtest-86. A bad ram module can really screwed up your pc.

Nope...this is not normal.......this beeping noise is observed when the ram is not put in the right slot or the ram is wrongly put in the correct slot......
