How do you describe the match between Australia and Japan ?

Dramatic.

What a way for Australia to win, what a way for Japan to lose. It's certainly turned the group upside down.

Referee was a little extra-judicious and although Australia picked up a few yellow cards, so did the Japanese.

Forget that refereeing blunder on 26 minutes because it may have provided that additional spark for Australia to go into attack. And Hiddink certainly proved his critics wrong, saving the arguably two most dangerous players for later in the match when the opposition had wilted to some degree.

the game was interesting up untill japan got a goal wich should have been a foul and the red card should have been givin out, then i was switching channels between big brother and the soccer because the game got depressing but all in all the last 15 minutes were great and im glad the aussies won.
that will teach japan to cheat. LOL

I am an Aussie and I did watch it even though it was on at an unearthly hour.

Up until the 83rd minute, i was feeling fairly depressed.

Everything after that, i thought was fairly awesome. It makes up for not getting in for the last 32 years and even if we don't make it past the next round I will still be impressed by the win.

It was a thriller. But i'm deeply disapointed with the Soceroos for not making enough of their chances. They played like kids and the japanese were the ones who were giving accurate passings. I must say its by sheer luck they won.
