In John 3:16 / 17' it is written:- " For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.God did not send His son into the world to condemn it, but to save it."

So was Jesus Christ the Messiah..the Son of God...or who was he?

I dont mind how extreme your answer is because i believe we all have a right to be heard...

Yes, I believe that Jesus was the son of God, in fact he was God the Son. There are so many qoutations in the New Testament of him talking about being SENT by the father and If we believe He was a also/only a prophet (def. Somebody who speaks God's word) he would surely not die or deceive people.
Jesus also said, of himself "....I came down from heaven...." So we know that he was there from the beginning and as such must be God, especially as St Paul says, "...through Him (Jesus) all things were made..." and "....... He ( again Jesus) did not cling to His equality with God...." Jesus also said "....The Father and I are one...." Then on the occasion when he met his disciples before he ascended to heaven He had the power to breath the Holy Sprit into them.
Finally, in the new Testament letters, The Holy Sprit is referred to (twice I think) as the Spirit of Jesus.
I have kept it brief, but there are other readings if you would like them, including the verses.
God bless.

In fact, Jesus was BOTH. Messiah means the awaited king of the Jews. The Jews were God's chosen people, but they kept disobeying him; therefore Jesus decided to let the whole world have a chance. God sent his Son to be the Messiah, so he could save the world. However, the Jews thought that the Messiah was their KING in the earthly sense. However, his was a spiritual kingdom. Jesus was telling them that their Earthly body might die, but there is still their spirit. And their spirit can be saved from the buring fire of Hell. Turn to him, confess that he is your Lord and Savior and repent; that was all Jesus requested from his followers (so that their spirit will never die/escape from the pits of hell). Many Jews turned against him as he failed to overthrow the Romans.

Jesus is the son of God, if fact he is God, God the Son. I believe in the Holy Trinity of three Gods in one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus was with the Father and the Holy Spirit since the beginning of all eternity. He came down from Heaven and became human. He died for our sins and rose from the dead. He rose from the dead and ascended to the Father. He will return to earth one day to judge the living and the dead.

I do not believe in God hence I do not believe in God's children or anybody such.

With that out of the way,
It looks like Jesus had something to tell the people - about how to lead life - but he was intelligent. He thought nobody would follow what he said unless it came with some extra persuasive power - he created God for this.

Am i wrong somewhere? (I am not asking the Believers)

Jesus is the (only) son of God. He is the word of God and He is the essence of our salvation. Read John 1. He is the hope of every believer.

Islam says the Bible was changed by men, so God sent the Quran to correct it and He himself prommised to protect it. So the verse you have quoted here is not of the original Bible. Jesus never claimed to be the son of God, but a servent of God.

as a muslim,i will honestly tell you that idont believe that jesus is the son of god but i believe that he is a normal prophet as moses and mohammad(pbuh) were.people believed in that before christianity reached europe(rome)where the bible was rewritten adding and removing some facts to it.also we believe that when christianity reached europe it was mixed whith some of the ancient religons there which made people believe wrongfully that jesus was god's son.there is a religious christian group still existing in america that believe that jesus wasn't god's son.

13When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

14They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

15"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

16Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,[b] the Son of the living God."

17Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
