3. Ash, Bruce Campbell is by far the most bad ***.

Let's do a compairative analysis

1. Ash vs. T-800.

Ash is part man, part machine, 100% hardcore
T-800 is part man, part machine, 100% hardcore
so that's a draw so we need to get into the subtle differences
Ash is inventive, Ash is the McGuyver of the list. The T-800 is single minded and thus very limited in his bad assery. The T-800 doesn't have the ability to plan or use strategy or take risks everything is calculated probablity that decreases the bad *** factor. Ash on the other hand goes up against insane odds and laughs at the face of the impossible. Not to mention Ash has far better catch phrases.

2. Ash vs. Man w/ no name

Now with all due respect to the man with no name (hereby abbreviated as MWNN) this is easy to see how ash is more badass.
Let's suppose Ash fights MWNN. both are well armed, if the ammo runs out then chainsaw hand trumps buck knife any day of the week. Ash would probably also win in a gunfight because of his uncanny ability to withstand even the harshest injury (near superhero) he could probably take a few slugs from MWNN's colt but I'd like to see MWNN live through a boomstick blast. Not to mention MWNN is generally passive, he doesn't show his bad assery unless he needs to or is challenged or is attacked etc... Ash on the other hand oozes bad assery all day, every day, no matter the situation.

4. Ash vs. Agent Smith

Ok so agent smith has super speed, super strength and the ability to posses people.
Sound familiar? Every damn demon ash has ever fought has those same qualities and guess who comes out ahead every single time? Ash. Ash even was possessed and was able to expel the demon from his body. Sure he takes a hell of a beating but he always comes out on top against this type of enemy.

5. Ash vs. Aragorn

Good, bad, Ash is the guy with the gun. Not to mention Aragorn isn't that much of a bad *** he relies on his friends for assistance. Many situations he would have been killed if it were'nt for legolas saving his ***. Ash on the other hand is a 1 man army who doesn't need help from anyone.

6. Ash vs. Stansfield

This is a no-brainer. Stansfield isn't so much of a bad *** as he is a complete dick. He doesn't have any remarkable talents. he's not an awesome shot, he doesn't have any great strength or endurance or gritty determination, he's just a heartless and corrupt dick. His only advantage is that he is that he has a small army of police, FBI and ATF officers at his disposal but if anything that detracts from his badassery because without their support he couldn't beat anyone on this list in a staring contest much less a fight.

2. Clint Eastwood, a man with no name. If you pay attention to the musical scores of those films, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and others, you'll notice how the music brings an eerieness to the character. Builds tension and fear. As the strong silent and violent type, the nameless man has no past, no future just like those he kills.

Terminator!! Arnold is the man regardless. Fun fact: The huge gun he used in T-2; he was the only person on the set that could even lift it. Also is character is Predator was pretty awesome. Honorable mention has to go to Rambo, he was preety bad *** himself.

Robert Duvall as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore in Apocalypse Now - I love the smell of Napalm in the morning; what do you know about surfing, you're from New Jersey.
He just walked around while all this s**t was happening around him; not caring that the enemy was firing at him - he just wanted to surf - now that is a badass.
