find another job, if your boss doesnt work then how can you have any respect for him/her, if your boss doesnt work then who is doing all the work?? if it is you then definiately find another job...

If I were you, I'd foster a good relationship with his boss, and then drop some hints. The way I see it, being allies with the boss of your boss or someone higher would always be beneficial. :-)
Either that, or submit a review for your boss come review time.

Ask him to help your do a task ever now and then or ask his suggestion on how to do things better. Get him involved. He has probally gotten lazy out of habit
