NASCAR! NASCAR has the fierce competition that everyone loves.
1. Drivers with a good sense of humor, which adds to the entertainment.
2. Bad tempers, which adds to the excitement and controversy
3. Rookies, which can bring in new fans.
4. The media, which can either be annoying or helpful.
5. Speed, which every NASCAR fan has the need for.
6. Prayers before each race, which I think is awesome.
The list goes on. NASCAR is the best motor sport that you'll ever find. You can say that all the other motor sports have what I listed, but NO sport is just like NASCAR.
Go Greg Biffle!

Most of the answers seem to be dictated by emotion rather than thought or logic. Having said that, I'll admit I'm an open-wheel racing fan, however, for sheer excitement and driving skill, I would have to say rally racing in it's many forms is probably the best there is. Still, it's difficult to discount the wheel-to-wheel action featured in the lower formulae such as Formula Ford or Formula 2000, where the prize for winning is often just a trophy.

If you consider all the elements of motor racing then none of the above. If you think about driver skill and endurance, toughness and dependability of the motors (whether car or motocycles) and forget about popularity then its gotta be motor rallying and specifically the Paris to Dakkar rally.
A Paris to Dakkar car could compete with a NASCAR on the track (probably wont win) but the reverse is not true. Rally drivers could drive any NASCAR but i dont think the same for NASCAR drivers. F1 is nice but really,,,,the winner is usually determined from the qualifying stages (pole position normally wins)
When it comes to popularity then motor rallying takes a backseat...probably because Americans are not really into it so the hype is not there.
Just my opinion.

Indycar!
Reasons:
Faster cars
Cooler cars
Better drivers
Awesome crashes
High-speed
It even takes more skill to drive an Indycar compared to say a Nascar.
Indy 500 (Biggest spectacle in racing)
Danica Patrick
Helio Castroneves
Need I say more?

Tough question! I like most of them. Check out the short track dirt ovals for some real excitement. The Super Late Models and the cars on the Tennessee Thunder Dirt Cars Series are a blast to watch.
Check out atomicmotorspeedway.com for some great pics.

nascar by far yes its limited to north america pretty much but you will not find a more diverse intense and large crowd for any other sport.I dare anyone to show me any other sport that draws a live crowd of up to 400,000 fans at 1 venue for a 1 day event.

I was never a huge motor sports guy, but lately I have been watching it alot. I love the F1 and the motorcycle races. I also really like but not sure what they are called....is the races that feature real cars like BMWs, Corvettes, Pontiacs. I really like those races.
