Most people say that Picasso is a genius but he painted only to amuse and after looking at his works for a few minutes, you realize that its all hype and glorified doodles. On the other hand, Dali forces you to think and to face your own 'demons' ; the image retention is so strong long after you have left the museum. Dali lived and spent a big part of his life with wife Gala while Picasso abussed his women and relish the sight of women fighting for his attention. Picasso also used his stature to discredit and undermine other artist to make himself look good. Dali was maybe a little of a showman but it was done for fun and good humor. Dali is a great role model , the epitome of creative freedom and artistic integrity. Salvador Dali is it !!!!

Dali, much more imaginative, flowing with more of a story behind his paintings. Better colours.

Salvador Dali.
I have always found his art to be surreal and it somehow speaks to me and fits with the modern world where we find ourselves. His plastic depiction of everyday objects and the skewed point of view relates the confusion and lost feeling many people have in the modern world.
But that's just my opinion... i could be wrong.
