To the answer that methane doesn't effect the ozone, you are sorely mistaken. It is true that the number one depleter of ozone are CFC's and that they have banned for use. Also, that it will take quite some time for them to leave the atmosphere. But there is another small cause for the depletion of the ozone and that is Halons. Halons consist of alkanes, such as methane or ethane, with one or more halogens linked, such as chlorine or fluorine, making them a type of organic halide. So methane can help by the depletion once it has bonded to a halogen. So farting can have a small effect on the ozone layer, but probably very minimal.

Also it is true that methane has a huge effect on the greenhouse effect. In fact, it has 12 times the effect of CO2. They also have found that the number one producer of methane is from the flagellants of cows.

The ozone layer is damaged by CFCs & similar chemicals once used as aerosol propelants and in air-conditioning systems.

Farts are methane, which is a powerful greenhouse gas, and has no effect on the ozone layer.

Please don't confuse the issues of climate change and ozone depletion.

Yes it can

if all living animals including our species fart at one time.
imagine 4 billion human farts - what a pollution

and a bright idea,

if all of them face true East and fart exactly at true West - all at one time - may be it will change the rotation speed of the earth

After a pepperoni and garlic glove pizza and some Guinness, I'm surprised the wall paper isn't peeling ;-)

no, cause ozone depletion is due to CFC gas.
farting does not relese that gas, so we are okay.
you can release it now
