You can't be free and you can't be secure. We sure seem to be giving up a lot of freedom for the illusion of security these days. I like it the other way around.

Oh yeah that's right, we also have the illusion of a war going on. The dying is real, but the point is an illusion.

No one is free because there are always things you can't do. No one is secure, because you can die at any time from anything, just ask John Ritter. That being said, let's vote!

The illusion of security. But i would like to have real freedom. Freedom is when you can do what you need to do. Security is when you are trying to remain safe from others. That can be managed. Security sometimes can be handled by ourselves. but freedom is so important to have as a real commodity. just a personal opinion from some one who lives in a country with very little real security. Freedom matters. Our little war stems from lack of freedom on both sides.

The illusion of security is more fitting than the illusion of freedom, but in retrospect an illusion is what it is. If i'm under the spell of anything that is surreal then i will be happy because ignorance is bliss.

You can't be free [within the bounds of a structured society] and you can't be secure, so there's no reason to pretend you are either. Why would anyone choose an illusion?
