can any1 suggest any other processor etc.

i want 2 know d fastest/latest ram. (eg ddr2 n 1200mhz etc)
a motherboard with enough expandability eg PCIe 1x,16x slots etc,

currently only these 3 things.(motherboard, processor,ram)

also suggest if anyother component can act as a bottleneck with this config. (leave d graphics card for d time being)

The FX-62 is a bit pricy, i would wait a while, the processor hasn't been released in south africa yet, maybe next month.

For ram i would go for 2x 1GB sticks of Pefromance memory from Corsair, Geil, Transcend,Patriot or Kingston. Corsair is my favorite at the momment. 1066 DDR2 of course with low timings. Most AM2 boards i have seen can only run DDR2800 but if you get 1066 Ram it will be great for over clo

Motherboard is a toss up between Asus and Gigabyte, for me that is. If it were me i would go for Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G or for sli config GA-M57SLI-S4, but i am a big Gigabyte fan everyone else will say ASUS.

Alternatively i would wait for CPU's based on Conroe cores to be released. The word on the street is that the low end conroe's beat the FX-62, but we'll have to wait and see.

No matter which video card you choose, if you are going to be gaming, it's going to be the bottleneck in any system, especially a system with an FX-60 or -62 processor. And if you aren't going to be gaming, you'd be much smarter buying an Opteron.

The best configuration for a desktop would be:-
Petium IV 3.2 Ghz (with HT)
1 GB DDR2
Intel 945G Chipset
160 GB 7200rpm HardDisk

If you go with AMD I don't think you can use DDR2
