Friends don't seem to be getting offline IMs. Very difficult to chat over last week. Everyone seems not to be there and when I call them they say they are having same problem.

Yes, Yahoo IM is the buggiest of the lot. Try Google Talk from Google. Simple and best for text/voice chat.

Yahoo messenger is working fine, you might have networking prolblems like slow speed and poor isp. try changing your isp.

try another time ... Yahoo Services go nasty somtimes due to heavy loads
