The property is identical, so we are not receiving £100 more of any service or amentiy etc. Thus we are being over charged in comparison. What can we do?

There is no such tinng as rental parity, you look around, find one, agree to a rent and that's it, doesn't matter that there is one over the road 500£ cheapoer, you have contracted a rent, signed an agreement so have to live with it. Your only protection is over eviction and unfair INCREASES.

Did you start renting your after your neighbor? I'm not sure about rental laws where you are, but normally landlords don't have to have parity in rents; they can raise rents after someone moves out.

That being said, if you have a good relationship with your landlord it couldn't hurt to ask.

Go to the landlord and find out why you're paying more (see if they come up with a logical explanation). If it sounds like a scam, talk with someone from your local council and see if you have any rights in a matter like that.

Talk to your landlord about the situation there is no harm in asking but he will probably say no. If the other tenant has been there longer than you that may be why they are paying less.

Maybe the borough changes on the oposite side of the road. Also if its a different estate agent that rented your one out to you, then its up to them to price it how they like. Mention it, but nothing you can do about it really.

Are they owned by the same people? You first have to find out why there is a difference.
