Yes. Here in Korea you can buy a pirated vista OS for about 10 bucks. BUT it is the Beta 2 you can download off the Microsoft website. I did hear though that in places like China and Singapore you can get a full working pirated version. Since Vista doesnt launch until 07 im sure its either the Beta 2 or a stolen copy.

I bought XP Media Center 2005 and XP Pro 2006 when I went to China a few weeks ago. They both work perfectly fine and havnt done anyhting to my computer yet and it only cost me like $30

I wouldnt use a pirated version of vista, if you ever try to connect to the internet to update it , its going to check the serial number. And i can gurantee if 1 person has it, 100 do, and microsoft will blacklist that serial number asap, even causing you the chance of being thrown in jail.Best bet would be to download the Beta version or buy it when its out. PS: to download the beta version you need high speed internet, and a DvD burner to create the install disc, Or you can just order a beta copy and pay for shipping

Impossible is a very strong word... I'd be very surprised if no one found a way to sell full copies or some working variant of the bits.

But as a word of caution, running a pirated OS isn't a great plan. You know the people you buy or download it from aren't trustworthy, since they're ripping off the company, and you know they're good enough to circumvent whatever copy protection is used. What's to stop them from setting up a rootkit at install time? You couldn't ever really trust the machine to be secure or reliable, even if it looks okay on the surface.

Since it is in Beta 2, you can download it for free and burn it onto a DVD or even order the DVD to be delivered, you pay shipping. Along with doing that you are able to get what they call Release Candidate 1 as part of the deal.

Once Microsoft actually releases it next year, pirated version will be all over the place, but like previously stated once Microsoft gets the pirated keys then you will not be able to update your software leaving you vulnerable to security threats and risks.
