Scientist and theologians have been un-able to answer this question. But you'd think that evolutionary pressures would have required that this dormant period (sleep) is an inferior trait since it leaves the critter vulnerable to attack.

Once again, evolution can't explain this, and in fact evolution would say that there should have been a solution already.

But I'd say God requires sleep, to force better survival for communal habits rather than isolated single only individuals. After all you need to have someone stand "on-guard" at night while you sleep.

Sleep recharges the mind, give the body time to digest, and spen more energy doing routine things, like digest, grow, fight infection. Humans need sleep to keep the brain functioning. Sarratonin levels in the brain decrease with activity and wakefulness....sleep recharges that hormone. Saratonin is crucial for the brain to function

what did u feel when uv past ur bedtime?
how were u in the morning if u didnt get ur sleep the nite before
