Takes a few day for a psychotic break to happen.

That really depends on what you define as insane. With no sleep I would guess normal things would look a little strange to you or you would do strange things. Example: Thinking that the three small trees in the backyard are actually three people. Or putting the milk in the cabinet and cereal in refrig.

I've tried it before to do a spiritual tradition which are very common in Asia. The task is to challenge how determine you are in accomplished your wishes. So for 4 damn days I wake up, doing something, walking, watching TV, playing games, calling a friend, anything but sleep.

After day 3, I started to hallucinate, don't know what day is today, cannot judge what's real and what's not, headache, hearing things, cannot decide what clothes I wanna wear today, finally I cannot continue to day 4.

So, plz consider it again before doing it. Brain need some rest just like a battery. It needs to re-charge.

No....there was a research conducted a couple of years ago to see the affects of sleep diprivation on people....they realized that after 2 weeks of no sleep, the person will only have hallucinations that are gone once they go to sleep. So that proves you can't go insane.
But it will do much harm to your body. When we sleep, we don't only restore our memory, but we regenerate our cells. Try not sleeping for two days and you'll realize that your skin is dry no matter how much lotion you apply..
Don't starve yourself from a biological need.....Good luck

there's only so many days/hours you can handle without sleep before you start hallucinating. will this make you look insane? probably. i'm sure with treatment though you'll be fine.

if this is a real concern, you should consider talking to your doctor about it.

Yup. The record for the number of days being able to stay awake is 11 days. At a point, the person who held that record thought he was a famous cricket player.

Actually yes, if you don't sleep....you would literally go insane...Sleep is critical to brain function..worse yet, if your sleeplessness went on long enough, you would die.....techniques of torture and interrogations use sleep deprivation to bring on a psychotic state....

i love that feeling you get when you stay up for more than 24 hours....you start to talk about things you did 10 years ago out of the blue...then you get a burst of energy and if you tried to fall asleep it is impossible..good times
