We have as much power in those decisions as we did when we did our research before we pulled the voting lever. I don't think "none" is the right answer. It is the right answer if you just slop to the poles and choose whichever name you've heard and/or seen most on the TV or radio. In that case, you deserve what we get (not the author of the question [I hope] but anyone who does so). Please, if you are going to vote, don't just vote what your parents have voted for the last 40 yrs, look up voting records on key issues to you (ie, the war in Iraq, Marriage amendment, Immigration, legalization of marijuana) or whatever, just make an informed decision instead of just hoping for the best.

In general... because we have a representative form of government, as individuals... we do not have power of decisions made by our government.. however, no decision is final. If you do not like what decision has been made.. elect a different representative that will repeal the decision that upset you.

~Change can be forced. Look to the 60's. Civil Rights. Women's Rights. Farm Workers Rights. Government reform (too little and abandoned, but a start) Expansion of free speech and civil justice.
You ain't gonna have much impact on Yahoo Answers though. You need to be in the streets, at the polls, and running for office.

We have the right to vote who goes into the governments and who goes there to make the law to help govern our lives and our friends' lives. When we don't participate in helping change the government systems, and when people just keep on thinking that there's nothing they can do, then change will never take place. Of course there will always be corruption. It's inherent. But we gotta actively participate. If we don't do it.. who will?

We have more power than people think, but most of us don't bother to do anything. We changed the Vietnam war era by our voices and the young can make a difference now. We need all the people to vote and we could make a difference.

That really depends on the people we elect to be in the government. The government is supposed to speak on behalf of the people, and if they don't do that then it becomes the responsibility of the people to elect people who will speak on our behalf.

Very little, less economic penalities (if we trade with them) or violence (frowned upon and usually backfires).
