You don't. That's the best thing about being new.

When you're new, you have a chance to start over, become another person and renew yourself, in a way that you want people to see you. Don't see it as an opportunity to make friends and enemies, see it as an opportunity to make yourself more interesting in your own sort of a way.

The best way to fit in is to introduce yourself and join clubs, sports teams, etc. Just be yourself and have a good time.

Just be yourself, if you pretend to be something you're not, later one when you actually start being yourself, your new friends will wonder what happened to you.
Honesty is always that best policy.
