You can never be sure. She may have just heard something somewhere and may be repeating. Children do learn quickly.
If she goes in to more specific details and she is consistent in discription then may be she rembers some of her past life. Even in that case do not worry. It will pass. Most children forget it themselves as they grow up. Memories fade out.

When my daughter was about that age, she used to ask me all kinds of questions about the mom I had before she was born. If I knew where she was, if I still talked to her. Of course I explained that my mother had always been my mother, her grandmother, even before she was born.
Even that young she used to get very upset and argue with me that I was wrong. It seemed like she was trying to say she was always my daughter but I at some point had a different mother.
Who knows, maybe she was my daughter in a past life as well as this one, maybe she is very self centered and believes the world started the day she was born. She is 11 now and stopped asking questions a long time ago. In hind site, I should have been the one asking questions. At least I would have had more insight into where her head was at and would have a more definitive answer for you now.

Your daughter is having past-life recall. This phenomenon is frequently observed in children. Unfortunately, our Christian society has convinced everybody that there is no such thing in spite of the scientific evidence. Almost 3,000 cases of "overactive imagination" have been verified as fact through historical databases available in libraries and other sources.
I suggest you ask your daughter a few follow up questions the next time she speaks of such things. But don't pry, let her talk on her own and stop when she wants to. Then try to verify whatever she tells you through a geneologist or anyone else who could help. The results will surprise you.
And by all means, post the results!

I am not entirely sure of what you mean in your question, however...
Your daughter may have rememberances of a past life, when she was an adult. More children than you realize remember their past lives but later on they may dismiss these memories as their imaginings of youth. However, children are more in touch with past lives than adults, because the memories are fresher in their minds. Yes, children and adults will make up things also, but there are also times when people know things that they could not possibly know otherwise, unless of course they are telling the truths of their past lives.
I myself once had a past-life flashback, which was brought on by a trigger mechanism, which is a fairly common way to remember experiences in past lives. It's a bit of a long story but I was fully awake, sober, and concious at the time and it was a valid experience I had. I did not, to my knowledge have memories of a past life as a child, but I also remember little of my childhood due to the fact that I am blocking it (traumatic experiences) as a defense mechanism. Also as a child there was no trigger which would have made me remember the particular experience I had in a past life.
I'm not quite sure what you mean in the question (specifics help), but do not judge or punish your daughter for her experiences. Encourage her to tell you about these memories and ask her what she means, for instance, if she was in a body before she was in this body (although she may not for a time, or may never know, how we get from one body to another), and when she is old enough, allow her to draw pictures of times in her past life, and write about these things. It may help her know herself better (my experience made me realize why I feel the way I do about certain things) and she may appreciate it very much that you let her express her feelings about her past life. She may be able to carry something very special with her for all her years, that many are unable to experience. I certainly would cherish that very much.
Good luck with everything. ^_^

you say used to be right? the age she is at is the most likely time for children to talk about past lives. (you won't believe this if you don't believe in reincarnation.) she's just gotten a good grasp on language and she can think more clearly then when she was smaller.
encourage her to tell you about it, and ask questions. we reincarnate to learn something from every life. if we are conscious of where we were before it's easier to learn.

Reincarnation, When children are young and still have an open mind that has not been influenced by society and adults, they seem to still have some of their memories from previous incarnations. My son when he was around 5 used to tell me "When he was still in heaven before he was born", and "when he was a grown man before".

big as in refering to when she used to be an adult? well, if so, it's possible that she could be having memories from a previous life. and i'm not into the whole reincarnation stuff, but there are some cases where that has happened.
