John 3:16

It's the most known Bible verse.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only son..."

Hope that helps!

God Bless. Love Wins.

The numbers 3:16 can also denote the number of minutes left on a timer. For example, when you set the minutes and seconds on a microwave they will be displayed as 3 for the minutes followed by a full colon to separate the minutes from the seconds, than16 for the number of seconds. Much simpler to write 3:16 than three minutes and sixteen seconds. There are other timing devices which display the number of minutes and seconds that are left before a scheduled event will take place, for example, bombs exploding, blasting charges igniting, egg timers for boiling eggs, timers for people on a treadmills who only want to exercise for a set number of minutes, and so on.

I can't answer the second part of the question because Yahoo does not allow obscenities to be posted on this forum. I can tell you that it's very derogatory and not to be taken as a compliment.

3:16 refers to a Bible verse, John chapter 3 verse 16.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

This Bible verse is used as a demonstration of the degree of love that god has for those who follow him. If you want to take a closer look, I am providing a link to an annotated version of this passage so that you can take a look at it and decide on what you think it means.

Though Christians will explain it differently, the true meaning of 3:16 is slightly different. Christians believe the word "him" points to the son, when in fact according to Jewish context, the word "him" points to God.

So John 3:16 reads as such...
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him [meaning God] should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Meaning, that a beloved servant of God had done such a service, that who ever believes in God will not be destroyed, but will recieve life after Judgement.

So putting one's faith in men, or false gods or the like will not bring life to a person, for only God holds life and death in His hands. But if one turns to God for salvation, then one will recieve salvation from God, no where else.

I take it you mean John 3:16. It is a bible verse used by believers to spread the word or their church and get new converts. the text is:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Sounds hokey to me.

It's from the Bible, in the Book of John, chap. 3, verse 16: For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son.
