Guitar actually involves the element of pain which piano rarely does, therefore I'd say guitar is harder to learn. But once you get good at both, piano is probably the hardest to play complex things on because the way a guitar is made offers a sort of simplicity which makes it easier.
Both are very respectable.

In any case the guitar-piano combination is a very tough one in that it increases your left and right hand coordinations whether you are a lefty or a righty. I don't play both of those instruments very well but in piano I used my right hand more and it had more agility. In the guitar, the left hand (me being a righty) does most of the job for notes and that makes it a challenge. I don't think one is essentially more easier to manage than the other. Each requires different abilities.

It really depends on what you want to do. I you are interested in music theory, single, doulbe, or possibly triple melodies, I would denifitley have to say guitar is easier. Capo's make literally any key easilly accessibly, different tunings make fingerings very do-able.
Guitar requires greater fine motor, particularly with the plectrum (pick). Calouses go on every finger except your right
pinky. Guitar's equire constant tuning, string replacement, ect. Electric guitars are an entirley different game. Pedals and amps, pickups, and a myriad of other complications makes electric quite challenging technologically.

Any instrument is as hard as you want to make it.
Playing the guitar and piano require many of the same skills, and only a few different ones. Are those skills that differ harder or easier than one another?
Who is to say?
Practice makes perfect in any event.

In my own experience, piano was harder. My boyfriend sat down with me and I learned to play several songs on his guitar in a short amount of time, but with piano my lessons were nothing but a headache.

Some things are harder on guitar and some are harder on piano. For instance, I think it is easier to play scales fast on guitar because you can use hammer-ons and pull-offs. However, I think it is easier to play complex chords on piano.

I think piano requires a lot more musical knowledge. I play guitar and I can get by just knowing the chords. (You can seriously play most songs just knowing the B and F shape chords.) In terms of physical difficulty, guitar will destroy your fingers.
