I downloaded media player 11 (beta) and dont like it. You cant search for music on it , and was wondering if i re-downloaded mp 10 would it write over 11 automatically?

go to add remove progs, check the update box, and highlight wmp 11 done!

well u just go to "add remove software" in control pannel n remove windows media player from there older version will be as it was earlier
else if it doesnt work then in "add remove sotware" page just look at the left side of the window there will be three option u select add/remove windows component then uncheck(unselest) WMP n then next n follow the process, now restart n then again on the same place check(select) that option of WMP it will be
reinstalled ok then restart again
but first of all try first option that i told u ok

You can't uninstall windows media player since it's integrated with the os itself. For tracing back to media player 10, you'll find everything needed here:

go into add and remove programme's remove media player 11.reboot your computer than reinstall media player 10.
