listen to ME! First it needs to have challenge, endurance, and excitement! You need prizes like Disney World and Universal free vacations, saving bonds, gift certificates to toy stores, and other free vacation packets including air fare. You need an interesting topic things like Out of Place Out Of Mind, Somewhere Out There, or No Better Fun for the name. You need games to challenge the mind, the strength and team work in games. Idea for mind: Best idea and campaign to inform kids on safety, drugs, and alchohol. Idea for strength: Opsycal course races. And for the team work: Having to build some type of simple object. All three: Needing to map out a route through a deep forest then doing it! Send the kids on missions and challenges.Pair them up as a team. Elimination round: pick endurance games and the last team standing picks the team that they wish to go.

I would start out with about a dozen kids and maybe the first show would be each kid giving a minutes or so to tell about themselves and why they want to win the big prize (probably a scholarship and any other cool items kids would be interested in that I could get sponsors to donate in exchange for product placement on the show).

Each week would have a mental challenge, a physical challenge and a creative challenge. To encourage them to learn cooperation skills, at least one challenge each week would be one where they would compete and win as a team.

The top person/team in each category would win something small for their accomplishment that week.

The person who had one the most challenges at the end of the show's season would be the overall winner and I would also have 2nd and 3rd place winners.

I would not have an elimination as that is too hard and potentially psychologically damaging to a child to face rejection and have it televised. I would also want them to focus on winning by doing their personal best, not winning by just merely beating out the competition at all costs.

You know, honestly if they're on the older end of the spectrum, Ewen McGregor did a reality show called "Long Way Round", which has to be just about my favorite reality show ever (noting that I generally loathe them).

It's not aimed at kids to be sure, but it's not the whole "do stupid stunts for prizes" thing, either. You get to watch Ewen spend literally months trying to traverse the world and getting by on the kindness of people who have nothing compared to him. It's worth it just to see how eye opening it is for him.

Great learning experience even for me, and well worth the watch despite one scene where he has to bathe in a river and a couple of bad words, and he's popular enough for kids to watch long enough to get interested.

I don't think it's possible to create a reality show for kids, without it resembling an already-existing reality show in some way.

They should watch Disney Channel because
it has shows for any age. I would choose
Mickey Mouse for younger ages and
Hannah Montana or Phil of The Future, and Jake the American Dragon for older ages. Lilo and Stich the series is also good too.
