oh, absolutely! especially when it first aired. it was a very necessary piece of work for the time. but if you want the real deal on what happened as far as revolt & insurrection is concerned, you MUST see Sankofa, by Haile Gerima. too important not not own!

Yes, I saw it when it was originally aired. It was a big event at the time. Alex Haley became quite the celebrity.

Excellent movie. Where can I buy it online? I remember seeing it on T.V. when I was a child. It was so emotional and really made me realise just how bad America really was.
