They're a bunch of whackos that don't know what they're talking about. If they had their way, diabetics wouldn't get insulin (product of animal research). And they think keeping pets is immoral.

I think it's a great concept for a animal rights group to be so scandalous and controversy. It's their way of getting attention from people who'd normally just ignore them. When some animal is suffering in a Zoo somewhere in LA (given the latest news:), it wouldn't concern most people when hearing it on the radio on the way to the mall. So, PETA needs to create a huge splash. It works as we are talking about PETA now.
Overall, their intention is good - to protect innocent creatures that are not capable of protecting themselves against us, people.

PETA is agreat organization to help stop the suffering of animals. Just think that every day hundreds of animals die during painful, useless testing. They die alone, in pain, without someone or something to comfort them. PETA really helps. They make a difference.

Ahhhh PETA well I understand what they are trying to accomplish but, I think they go over board. Think of it this way if they used as much effort in trying to save our environment as they do on protesting the world would be a better place....but here is a better question..How many of these PETA people Drive cars that are fueled with Gas? OH sorry YaY! Yup you guessed it those cars kill animals everyday...BUT you still drive it..Get a life people start putting as much effort in raising your kids instead of wasting it on protest that are crazy.

If PETA had there way, there would be no zoos, no seeing eye dogs, no police horses, no animal farming, and NO PETS. Keeping pets is akin to slavery according to them.
Also, the first answerer mentioned insulin. PETA is against any medication that is produced or researched on animals, which insulin is. However, Ingrid Newkirk, PETA head, is diabetic and takes insulin herself.
Her reasoning? Her life is more important than everyone else's, because she is using it to fight for animals.
Apparently being rightous is justification for hypocrisy.

i love PETA!
there is a lot of contraversy about peta & the "stunts" they pull but peta's all about getting the word out to the public. public awareness about the many different animal cruelty cases is important & they spread the word. without peta, how much would people really know about what goes on inside of animal research labs, or factory farming facilities, or what circus animals go through? i love peta & i fully support peta!

There are millions of animal rights organizations out there and PETA has done the best job of spreading their message, so although their tactics have cause alot of controversy, it's the only way they have been able to get so much attention and gotten the message of animal rights out.

PETA is a group of hypocrits.
They drive cars I am sure not all of them are vegan.
They clean their homes and wahs clothes and wear clothes and shoes.
I am sure some of them even have pets.
How scandalous.
A good cause taken to far to the extreme.

They are self righteous, egotistical, hypocrites. I don't like animal testing but understand the reasons behind it. They go about it all the wrong way. They are a terrorist organization, and the government has a Bill on the floor now to make any terroistic violence a federal offense. which means they will be prosecuted and sent to federal jail. Bout time too.

hey i love animals and respect vegetarians, but PETA seems to me like some kind of cult. they're priorities are seriously eff-ed up.
if you want an animal to live like a king, you don't let him live in the wild. chances are, he will die within 6 months of his birth. animals live the longest and are treated the best in the following order:
1) laboratory specimens (don't believe me? check it out yourself)
2) pets
3) working animals (hunting dogs, police K-9s, etc)
4) farm animals such as dairy cows and laying hens
5) meat animals such as beef cattle
wildlife doesn't make the list. nature is a cruel parent.
has anyone noticed that humans are animals? does PETA care about human rights? hell no. and somehow the animals PETA fights for deserve better than humans. who's working in our legislature? bears and dolphins? wtf?
i think of all the endangered animals out there, only fish (salmon, for example) are endangered because we eat them. other animals that we eat are thriving. yeah, we kill a lot of animals for meat. but their wild counterparts die more violent deaths at a younger age, never receive medical care, are constantly on the verge of famine....
ranching is a respectable profession. they do what they do to feed their families and to meet a demand. different animal parts go to a wide variety of industries to minimize waste and improve efficiency. the fewer ranchers there are, because of PETA and similar organizations, the higher the cost of meat and greater amounts of livestock/meat will be imported from other countries whose standards may not be as stringent. mad cow is just the beginning.
