A friend of mine was told today that she has HPV because she has had an abnormal PAP. My best friend was diagnosed with HPV about 8 years ago and had a Colposcopy and has had normal PAP's since. I have always had normal PAP's and my husband would tell me his ex had HPV (I thought he was kidding but he wasn't) and I guess a lot of her friend had it too. I have been with my husband for almost 6 years with normal PAP's throughout. Does this mean he he cannot infect me and why? Do some woman have certain genes that keep them from contracting it?

I am really bothered by potentially contracting this from my husband. I already have to deal with having diabetes as an uncurable disease. I always used protection in my teens and early 20's until I was married to avoid this type of thing. Cervical cancer doesn't run in my family and I sure as heck don't won't to stress about it.

I have it. I have only been with one man my entire life, and that is my husband. He cotracted it before he met me, and I didnt get an abnormal pap until after my second child 4 years ago. My hubby and I had been together 5 years by then. A lot of times it takes something that brings your immune sysytem way down for it to be detected. I had a very hard pregnancy with her....she was just reallly big, and had problems in the beginning of my pregnancy. I had the Colposcopy done right after we discovered it, and have had normal paps ever since....I have also had 2 pregancies after my second child..

So, yes it si possible that you have it, but it is still undetected. Not to worry, though. It is the most common STD, a LOT of wemon have it, and dont ieven know it. I forget quite often that i have it....it causes no problems whatsoever. You just have to have your yearly pap done, and stay on top of it....b/c it is the leading cause of cervical cancer. That is is why it is SO important to have your yearly pap done!!!!

It can also cause genital warts, but I have been lucky enough to never get those.

HPV is an epidemic Human papillomavirus that motives cervical melanoma. It is unfold through sexual touch (vaginal or anal). There is a vaccine Guardasil that is helping to preclude it. Not all cervical cancers are prompted through the HPV, and now not all HPV is averted through such vaccine. There are approximately forty varieties of HPV. Although the one man or woman you've ever had sexual touch with is your husband, it can be valuable if he has had sexual touch with different females earlier than you due to the fact a man or woman may have HPV despite the fact that years have handed seeing that she or he had intercourse. Most inflamed humans don't observe they're inflamed or that they're passing the virus to a intercourse associate. I'm beautiful certain you might have got to ask for vaccine from the Dr. I don't consider they might mechanically vaccinate you with out a few understanding or a unlock of types. I desire that this is helping. P.S. The encouraged age for Guardasil is eleven-26 yrs of age, so that you must make your selection rapidly as you are attaining the larger age. My buddy stuck this HPV from her straying husband at age 19. She gave up the ghost at 20 from complete blown cervical melanoma (after having her cervix eliminated). It is an overly severe and lethal situation.
