My mother in law is a very manipulative lady. She's obsessed with her daughter & treats my husband like ****. My husband is in a very bad health but now he's resumed back work as we have very high medical expenses to take care of. Unfortunately my father in law is no more. My mother in law is a professor in colege & earns well. She has property worth 5 crores in her name . She's tried hard to seperate me & my husband but our love survived her manipulation. Is it morally correct to leave her & stay seperate for our peac of mind. She's 60

We are financially not in a very comfortable position because of my husband's ill health & being away from work for a long time.

Hey, under no circumstance you should let anyone manipulate you. She's 60, 20, 80, whatever... she's not good for your CURRENT family. You and your husband chose each other and you have to make it work. Sooner or later you'll go through a rough patch (everyone does) and she'll just be lurking around waiting for that to happen. All the money in the world isn't worth the pain. The way I see it, you should be as far from this person as possible.

Peace of mind is something that money cannot buy and once you have it, it's priceless. No MIL is worth the hassle of causing problems and distress in your marriage.
