I see it on some of my email accounts but not all?? I no its probley a simple question but I realy dont no.

The flag can denote anything regarding your Emails, for instance when my Boss mails me and wants follow up of those mails I put a "BLUE FLAG" on it, which reminds me that I have to send a follow up mail in Reply

A flag can represent any type of action which you want regarding your mail, if some of your contacts send you a BOGUS MAIL simply flag it to "YELLOW" or any other flag which reminds you of all the bogus mails

Flagged simply means not read.

it may contain virus, so if you click on flagged button you wont receive any more mail from this email address. i personally was told the same thing..

It's just another way of highlighting important emails.

I think that it means that it was not read or it was counted as not read.
