Criminals are not always "mean" people. In fact, some criminals can actually have some very good qualities, but simply don't learn from their mistakes or are incapable of feeling sorry for people.

I'm not saying all criminals are like this, and I'm not saying that if criminality is a handicap that it justifies what they do, but being a criminal and being a plain old jerk are not always the same thing.

IS CRIMINALITY EVEN A WORD?

Every destination in life is a process...being a plain old jerk may be the stopping point for some, but may be a part of the path to criminalization...such as in desensitization and lacking compassion...just in various degrees.

Every action that has a negative impact on others is technically a "mental disorder". "Mental" being the creation of that person's reality and "disorder" being that which causes turbulence.

being responsible for your actions is what entitles you to be in free society. you become an adult regardless, but if you still insist on behaving badly, well, you'll be punished according to your actions, it's as simple as that. you're a criminal psych student aren't you??? those guys/girls are going to eat you alive. don't mean to sound rude, but watch yourself. you find folks like that interesting. and why not??? i find snakes, crocodiles, bears, lions, etc interesting. but i wouldn't want to go into their habitation with a big smile on my face and a "heart full of compassion" and not expect to be savaged!!! sure it will be argued that people are NOT animals, but lets face it. lot's of people do a damned good job acting like them. just ask their victims families.

Only to people who don't believe that people who break laws and harm other people should be accoutable for their actions or that "society" is to blame, both of which are points I have yet to see defended intelligently.
