Wear on your left hand, on the ring finger (next to your pinky), if you have two rings (engagement + a band, the band goes closest to your hand, the ring with the Major Stone goes away from you. The engagement ring is usually the stone, and the small band that goes with it is the wedding band, that is why the wedding band takes presedence over the stone, it is closer to your heart.
