They have been there all my life. They are not caused by lack of sleep or anything. I am mildly allergic to some foods, I stopped eating those foods for a few months but the dark circles remained. Any tips on how to make them go away?

i will tell u what are the reasons of that and i will show u the way to get ride of it:
1-lack of sleep(as u said u sleep enough 8 hrs per day..)...
2-smoking(its better if u decrease the number of cigarette u smoke)
3-nutrition(have to drink 7 glasses of water per day...2 piece of fruits including ur routine foods)
4-stress
5-glasses(better to use contact lense)
6- watching the monitor(every one hr let ur eyes rest for 5 mins)
7-rubbing ur eyes alot....make ur little vein broken(try to dont rub ur eyes alot and use warm pad on ur eyes at night if during the day u rubed them)
8-anemia(u have to ask ur G.P ab that and by blood test u can find that out),like when u dont have enough Iron ...u can use some ferrus sulfate tablets per night(but just wih ur G.P order
9- lack of Zinc(one tablet of Zn per night)
10-Genetic(here is no way just u can cover it by cosmetic brands)

Sometimes the circles are caused by glasses, stress, not enough sleep and heredity. PurplePeople recommended Avon Renew . It is called ANEW Clinical Eye Lift:upper eye gel / under eye cream. It is kind of expensive: $28.00 for 0.33 FL. OZ. ea./ch It does work I have been using the Avon under eye gels for years. One thing I do tho is to keep it in the refrigerator, it feels wonderful and refreshing. But this should be used with a really good facial regime. Once a week I also use this mask I bought at Wal-Mart it is for the eyes and you keep it in the freezer it has little beads in it. I put it on for 10 mins In the morning only in the morning. Hope this helps you.

Dark circles under the eyes seems to be a fairly common thing and lots of people have them.It is probably genetic and is not the same thing as the way people look when they are in need of sleep and rest. Goths would pay money to look like that,so don't worry about it .Lots of people spend a fortune on eye shadow and makeup to get that look, which is greatly desired by fashion models and celebrities,so just relax and enjoy it.

Too much of masturbation is also one of the cause of this. May be this answer does,t match to your question, but i felt to clear the reason just not only for you but also for others who practises masturbation.

To get rid of circles under eyes the homoepathy treatment is best. Some things you have to do is - make routine for early to bed and early to rise, and then go to nearby park, takeoff your slippers and walk naked feet, have milk after one hour of meals at night. Don't involve yourself too much in thinking of about any matter, try to consult that matter with your family / friends and try to get solution. Don't watch TV for more hours. Don't study in dim lights. All these are very small things which we never take care of.
Hope this will solve your problem.

Have a blood test and see if your kidneys are OK. There are too many variables to answer your question properly eg. lack of sleep, too much junk food etc. Usually if it is a health problem, dark circles under the eyes=kidney problems. Are you drinking lots of water?

I have dark circles under my eyes too. I have tried to get rid of them by sleeping a lot which does help. It can also be caused by stress and anxiety. But one method which is sort of odd but has helped is putting slices of cucumbers over your eyes.

Use special cream ! Make up is not the answer! Use natural products to get rid of them. Don't u see the Singers without make up u see how terrible they look well u may hav dark lines now but make up makes it worse believe me it attracts bumps 2 ! What will put u in another problem!

i hope you don't waste your money on things that "claim" to get rid of dark circles. because you just can't. it's the same with people who want to get rid of large pores.
what you CAN do is cover them as best as you can. a lot of times, dark circles are simply genetic and some people will just have it worse than others.
i suggest a good concealer (go to sephora and test some out or go ask a makeup consultant at the cosmetics counters to help you find a good match until you find one you like).
hope that helps!

I have them too. I found out that many people have dark circles under eyes not because of lack of sleep or anything but because the skin under the eye is so thin and delicate, sometime people (esp. lighter skinned) people look tired because the blood in your body is blue and it is seen in that thin layer of skin giving you the appearance of having dark circles and being tired.

I (lola) tend to have dark circles under my eyes as well. There are alot of makeup products out there that can help cover them up until you can find out whats causing them.
