What will happen if the moon got closer and closer to earth, and then just fell on it, you know, because of gravity. I understand that its not likely to happen. But what if? Will everyone feel it? Will there be a gigantic earthquake, or some kind of deadly wave?

It'd depend more on what forced the moon out of it's typical orbit. If something slowed the moon then the moon would gradually fall to earth be a relatively smooth landing probably destroying a lot of disruption where it lands and over most of the planet not to mention throwing off the equal libream of our axis causing the to rotate and wobble in random patterns until balanced again. If it was forced very quickly it could shatter the planet, the planet would most likely pull back together but you could kiss all life goodbye, except very resilient bacteria. Refer to Mimas a moon that orbits around Saturn, also referred to as the death star moon. Hope I helped

If hte moon impacted into the earth the earth would literally break in half. On it's way to impact the tides would go crazy. entire continents could sink.

Remember the meteor that killed the dinasours was only 6 miles wide. If the moon hit i cant see anyting surviving. If something did survive it wouldn't live for long. Ash would fill the ar and make it toxic. Also plants would die from the lack of sunlight. Earth would become a frozen toxic waste land.

Remember, The moon is stable in earths gravitations field so no worries

If the moon somehow slammed into the earth, you're not talking about "feeling it", you're not talking about extinctions, you're not talking about massive tidal waves. If it has any decent amount of speed, you're not talking about the end of life so much as you're talking about the actual destruction of the planet. Every physical feature we see would be destroyed in an instant. The orbit would be knocked off and depending on how the collision occured, we may plummet into the sun. Of course we'll all be dead so we wouldnt get a chance to see where we went.

Most probably the human race will come to an end. Only insects and pests will survive as they can get into the Earth. A huge crater would be created. In its entire history the must have had many collisions. The result of one such collision is Lonar lake,Maharashtra,India.

There would be a huge splat sound from the moon squishing everything and that would be it.

~Not to worry. You'll be dead long before impact.
Then again, nobody ever gets hurt when night falls, and that's pretty big, too.

That is the meteor that killed the dinosaurs. What do you think would happen.
