, as I'm just nodding off, I get this buzzing in my head and then I become paralyzed, I am wide awake, I can see, but I cant move. Then when I yell for help, I cant make a sound, nothing comes out. All the while the pressure and paralyzing is getting stronger, like it's crushing my chest.
Sometimes I even see still images in the air, mostly demonic, like my cat will have all her teeth showing and be in an attack pose in the air, still.
The only way I ever get out of these is by concentrating on something, hard.
What is this, I have had these since I was about 10, that was 16 years ago.
Its not drugs either.

Don't worry. It's a universal human phenomenon, as far as I know (happens to all ages, everywhere on earth, etc.).
I have heard the very strange wind rushing/buzzing sounds occasionally and have talked to many people who have had the experience you mention.
It may be purely physiology and your body is just going into dreamstate and out of it in the wrong order. The body is mostly paralyzed during dreams to protect you from acting out your dreams. Sometimes your body makes a "mistake" and wakes you up before stopping the paralysis.

Some people believe that the sounds are associated with the consciousness separating from the physical body (which happens during other states too). I've read a lot about it and been fairly convinced by some of it but can't make conclusions, only possibilities. It's fascinating stuff.

Whether it's true or not, maybe reading Robert A. Monroe's 3 books (Journeys out of the Body, Far Journeys, and The Ultimate Journey or something like that) would definitely make you feel not alone and you'd learn to just relax and enjoy the show. You can't be harmed. It's not physical.

In a way, I would consider what you have a lucky break and you may be able to learn things most of us can only guess at. If I were you I would try to leave my body and find some information such as license plate numbers to prove it to myself that it happened (if possible, it may not be true after all). Then try to prove it to the scientific community.

Good luck.

Something similar happened to me. I I was sleeping on the couch one after noon.It was no ordinary sleep , it was like"im almost dead , in a coma" kind of sleep cause I was so exhausted. It was about 4 pm so people started coming home from work and school and all i could do was open my eyes and look at them .I could not move my body at all or even speak.I started to freak out and felt a panica attack coming on but i couldnt tell anyone about it. All i could do is close my eyes and try to go back to sleep. I woke up like later on that night and described it to people. I dont know what its called but I do believe its a rare" condition" that happens sometimes. I wouldnt worry about it being "demonic" .Might be just sleep paralysis , with a dash of fanatical religion causing a bit of paranoia and stress. My boyfriend used to be a Jehovahs witness(when he was young) and had night terrors and sleeping problems as well.

Oh, you're just trying to get out of your body. It's like an outer body experience....well something like that. I forgot what Sylvia Browne called it.
Everybody does this right when they're gonna fall asleep. Well most may notice and some may not. I have a tendacy to do that too.
Next time, before you go to sleep, ask God to let you have a quick exit and entrance to your body. And no, you're not possessed. Did you know cats and dogs can sense and see spirits?

Okay have fun dreaming/seeing the world from a spirit point of view!!

Well weither you chose to belive this or not it is astral projection. This is where the spirt leave the body when we sleep. It can be paralizing and it is when you look and see your body laying there that you freak out. I would say that you have alot of negativity in your life. I know this because well i have experianced it myself. But just think about good things and try not to worry the spirt leaves the body all the time its only when the body figures it out that it becomes a problem. Dont worry about it and if you dont belive me explore astral projection and see what you come up with it may explane alot.

you are not having an out of body experience.I have been through this too.If you are still a Jehovah witness the best thing to do is to stop being one.It opens so many demonic things its scary. To understand what I am talking about go to "alwaysbeready.com" and on the left side you will see all the different topics and religions click on "Jehovah's witness"and watch the videos. Now the only way to get these to stop is to let Jesus do it.If you have given your life to Christ then you can call on his name and he will help. That's what I do when this happens and the demons leave instantly!!!since I cant talk I have to say it in my head.(you can say Jesus help me or Jesus save me either one works.)If you have not accepted Christ into your life than you would want to do this ASAP.If you are not a christian and you pray to ask God to help you he won't until you ask him into your life. What also helps is praying over the room before you go to bed.If you want to contact me for more info on this you can.My e mail is cmmustang_66@yahoo.com I will be praying for you.God bless

sounds like post traumatic stress. did something happen to you at that young age? something scare you? a robbery? death? even the smallest things can trigger this. perhaps you were afraif of the dark as a child and going to sleep is the beginning of your fears and your mind wants to get you out of there. see a psycologist. post traumatic stress should only last a few weeks after an incident, not years.

The questioner clearly needs to be working with a health care professional. The medical symptoms of paralysis and chest pains need to be diagnosed.

In addition, it may make sense to consider whether there are items which are attracting the demons to one's home and person. Prayer can only improve things in any event.

Relax honey, of course you are not crazy at all. There is a name for this and it's called narcolepsy. It usually begins when people are in their teens or early 20's but is known to begin earlier than that. It can be controlled with medications. Talk to your doctor ok? It is scary to experience the symptoms of narcolespy but overall you are just fine! You just happen to be one of the many people that have this.

YES!
Used to scare the **** outta me!
Then I found out:
When we go to sleep, our body secretes a chemical into our bloodstream that blocks nerve transmission into our muscles.
It is a natural process designed to keep us from thrashing about in our sleep while we dream.
The hallucinogenic part: freaky and disturbing, but apparently part of the process as well...
Wake up paralyzed with a spector standing at the foot of your bed....
