the average person who is NOT on Yahoo answers? Besides being a procrastinator or having too much time on their hands. I get the feeling that the "average" real-world person is not like your average Yahoo answers person. What are your thoughts?

Seriously there could be all kind of reasons.It is fun and very addictive etc.....I think lots of people are kind of lonely or looking for kicks (looking around the 360s...). Some people might be introverts and prefer communicating anonymously or they have a job at home/stuck in a boring work and don't interact with many people so it is a kind of window into the world.
Some I think just like the idea of exchanging views/jokes with people across the world and from various backgrounds. Personally I am a bit stuck at the moment and definitely prefer mixing outside with real people.....especially during the summer. I certainly prefer being among people I can see, hear, view their reactions etc.
Some look for other things....knowledge...inspirations.
There could be a multitude of reasons and I would not be judgemental too quickly.

If other people on the site are like me, then Yahoo! Answers fans are better at communicating with others through an impersonal means (i.e., computer) than in person. I can be very friendly, but sometimes I get nervous in social situations. So instead of hanging out with my "real life friends," I tend to spend a good chunk of time here.

well I think we are all alike because I myself check out this site while Im online doing something else, I ask about something I need to know or I answer something I think I might know about. Time is the last thing I have to much of, but I'll tell you one thing I sure am not on this site asking questions like the one Im answering, so maybe you are the one who has a little to much time on your hands. Well hope you find something constructive to do with all that extra time.

I think we're all a little strange. Procrastination is one thing, but I'm not partcularly loud in real life. I think there is a higher than average level of wit on this site and a good deal of creativity.

Hi! I'm very shy so I believe that there are a lot of shy people that don't fit in w/society...outcasts of some sort. I AM a Light worker and enjoy spending my time helping others. This provides a good forum for just that.

I think we are "People Persons" and open minded mostly. I don't get a chance to come here much but I find it refreshing to learn about other peoples perspectives.
