Is it technically correct to call Israel a fascist state?

And another question, what is the word for discriminating against someone because of their religious beliefs?

i think this is very valid. One answer stated that many races and religions live in Isreal but they are marginalized and persecuted groups. and sharon is an evil bastard(i mean he was evil i guess he got what was comin to him)

Although Israel is a primarily Jewish state, it has people of all religions living in it. It is the only democracy in the middle east, and in it's parliament there representatives of all religions - Jewish, Muslim and Christians. There are some Arab ministers as well.
Discrimination against people of different religion is illegal, and all citizens have the right to vote and to run for government. Some cities will have a majority of people of a certain religion, and naturally the mayor of those towns will be of the same religion. Muslim towns will have a Muslim Mayer, etc. Again, they are always elected in democratic elections.

Just because you see all the violence on CNN, it does not mean that life there is really that way. People are neighbors just like in any other place. Bombings are few and far between, and although you cannot avoid acts of hatred (just like in any other place) ther are some wonderful relationships between people who live there.
Please stop spreading hatred like this.

That's a bad definition. Facism requires crossover into dictatorship and/or police state. Israel is clearly a democracy with Jew, Muslim, & Christian voting equally.

I don't know of a word that decribes discrimination against religion in the broad sense, only words that describe discrimination against specific religions. There must be such a word though in the case of atheist police state descriminating against all religion - a la USSR.
